Today, the community is served by Granite City Community Unit School District #9, Madison School District # 12, and Venice School District #3. The Granite City School district operates a pre-k / kindergarten center, four education centers, a intermediate school, a junior high school, and a high school. It also operates a special education facility. District #9 has a total enrollment of about 7,350 students. The Madison School District operates two elementary schools, a middle school, a senior high school and a Student Support Center. District #12 has a total enrollment of 1,056 students. The Venice School District operates Venice Elementry.

SIUE Online Services & Educational Outreach Spring 2023 Programs
The St. Elizabeth Healthcare Foundation (SEHF) and the Chamber of Commerce of Southwestern Madison County’s It Starts Here Foundation (ISH) joined forces creating the St. Elizabeth Healthcare Foundation Scolarship Program.
The students receiving the SEHF scholarships must be presently engaged in a medical specialty, some of the disciplines that have been recognized are dentistry, medicine, physical therapy, neuroscience, pharmacy, chiropractic, speech pathology and many levels of nursing.
The scholarship applications go through an important third party management service which is a division of Scholarship America. This program uses standard Scholarship America recipient selection procedures including the consideration of academic performance, demostrated leadership and participation in school and commmunity activites, work experience, a statement of career and educational goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances and an outside appraisal.
