Granite City

Located at the center of the St. Louis metropolitan area and in the heart of the United States, Granite City’s location is a major boon to businesses and residents alike. However, that is not all there is to offer. There’s a well-trained workforce, a business-friendly atmosphere, strong infrastructure including multiple rail lines, a stellar port district on the Mississippi River, easy access to four major interstates (going in all directions) and is less than 25 minutes away from Lambert International Airport in St. Louis.

The Flag display you see at Civic Park represents the rich and diverse heritage of Granite City.

During the year several events are held at Civic Park in Downtown Granite City.  You’re sure to find activities going on each Halloween and Christmas season.  The route for the annual Christmas Parade starts just a few blocks away. We are so excited to say that February 26th of 2022 marks the FIRST Granite City – Mardi Gras Parade and Block Party at Civic Park. This event was put together by the Granite City Forward Alliance. The goal of this group of young individuals states, “The mission of Granite City Forward Alliance is to establish and maintain a community that encourages and promotes civic pride, economic development, and aesthetic revival.”.

During the summer from June until October, look out for the Granite City’s Civic Park Concert Series. Performances are every Wednesday from 6:30pm – 8:30pm!

Also found in the downtown area is the Granite City Cinema. The first movie theater complex since the closing of the theater on Nameoki Road and the Washington Theater in 1975.
